Why tennis players wear grip socks
Tennis punishes the inside of a shoe. On hard court, every stop is abrupt and your foot drives forward into the toe box. On clay, you slide into the shot on purpose, and the foot rolls inside the shoe as you do it. Serve, split step, recover. The shoe is doing its job against the surface. Nothing is doing a job inside it.
LUX® grip socks are that job. Dual Grip™ technology puts grip pads inside the sock to hold your foot and outside to hold the shoe. When the shoe stops on hard court, the foot stops. When you slide on clay, the foot goes with the shoe instead of separately inside it.
Calf length is the tennis fit. It sits inside any tennis shoe and covers the ankle. GripArray is the lower-profile sole for players who want less between foot and shoe. Our pickleball calf uses a bamboo-blend fabric that works well on hot summer courts too.
Over 1 million pairs of the same Dual Grip™ sole have sold across sports. Tested to 100+ match washes. 100-day guarantee.
Which LUX sock for tennis?
Tennis grip socks: your questions
Do grip socks work for tennis?
Tennis is stop, start and change direction, and each one loads the foot against the shoe. Grip socks hold the foot to the shoe so it stops sliding forward on a hard-court stop or rolling sideways on a wide recovery.
Can you wear grip socks on clay courts?
Yes. On clay you slide into the shot, and the point of the grip sock is that the foot slides with the shoe rather than separately inside it. The grip is between foot and insole, so the clay doesn't touch it.
Do grip socks stop toe jamming on hard courts?
Toe jamming happens when the shoe stops and the foot keeps going into the toe box. Dual Grip™ holds the foot with the shoe so it stops at the same moment. That's the single most noticeable difference on hard court.
Do you wear grip socks over or instead of tennis socks?
Instead of. The inner grip pads need skin contact. Wear them directly on the foot, inside your normal tennis shoe.
What length grip sock for tennis?
Calf. It covers the ankle and sits cleanly in any tennis shoe. Knee length is a cleat-sport option and isn't needed on court.
Are grip socks good for hot weather tennis?
The pickleball calf uses a bamboo-blend fabric chosen for hot courts and carries the same Dual Grip™ sole. The standard calf works fine in heat too; cold wash and air dry between matches.
How long do tennis grip socks last?
Tested to 100+ match washes. Cold wash inside out, air dry, no softener. Every pair is covered by the 100-day guarantee.
100 DAYS. ZERO RISK.
LUX lasts 3–5× longer than cheap socks — lower cost per wear, fewer restocks. If you're not satisfied within 100 days, exchange or get a full refund. No questions asked.
